Sceanery and activities Kvitneset is an area of great natural beauty on the shore of Brandal. Also a poular spot for fishing and walking. During the occupation in 1940-1945, Kvitneset was a central fortification for German troops.
 
Ocean fishing, walks by the Hareid River and abundant fishing lakes are just some of the outdoor activities that Hareid offer.
There are also marked footpaths to mountain peaks;Mountains in Hareid, many country roads perfect for cycling and beaches to relax on.
A canoe trip on lake Grimstad (Grimstadvatnet) and futher along the River Kaldhol (Kaldholelva) is a peaceful experience. Trees and plants line both sides of the river, creating an enchanting atmosphere. The only sounds to break the silence are the splashing of the oars and the birds singing along the river banks.
